This lovely Filipina, called Semana Santa, is in celebration of Holy Week and commemorates the passion and death of Jesus Christ through various rituals and personal acts of penance. This Barbie wears a white satis top with the tradition long, wide sleeves, with an embroidered floral pattern which is heavily beaded in white, clear and “pearl” beads. The skirt is flared and has alternating panels of black satin with swirled white thread and white satin panels matching the top. Barbie has her hair swept back and twisted at the neck. She wears a long floral patterned lace mantilla with gold decorative accents and comes with black heeled shoes, a stand and a religious “book” with a beaded bookmark. A card describing the doll is included.
