If I Had to Choose, I’d Stick With the 2001 Version It’s been nearly a decade since Mattel released their original “I Dream of Jeannie” and “Bewitched” Barbies, and now for 2011, they have produced a new trio of iconic ’60s TV goddesses, including re-issues of Samantha and Jeannie, and Elly May Clampett from “The Beverly Hillbillies”.The face molds on all three dolls are that of the classic original Barbie circa 1959-mid ’60s.The new Jeannie doll comes dressed in her famous pink and red harem outfit and headdress/veil with gold slippers. The colors in the fabric used this time are a little lighter than the costume of the 2001 version. Jeannie is holding her famous bottle in her left hand. Her blonde hair is sporting her blonde ponytail on top of her head. The veil wraps around her head and is quite long and extends almost to her feet.I wish Mattel had used the plastic casing for this doll rather than the cardboard one they decided to go with here. At first, I disliked the plastic boxes but have come…
